A little bit about our start…

The Unseen was founded with the idea to bring unique, guilt free products with a story to the United Arab Emirates market. Specifically for those who want to know the products they consume come from a good and ethical place and for everyone who wishes to decorate their homes with unique, timeless and quality products.

It started with an idea and a dream many years ago by founder Laura. But like with most things in life, sometimes things need to fall in place, like a puzzle. So, the moment was there mid-pandemic and The Unseen was founded early 2021. We hope that you like the range of products we selected for you and hope that you are committed to making this world a fairer and more beautiful place together with us.

Provide a transparent platform to tell “The Unseen” story of creative artisans and brands empowering local communities in making timeless, and unique interior design items. Each brand has an authentic story, and we want to raise awareness for the people and craftsmanship, behind the scenes. The Unseen marketplace brings together artisans who meet Our Values and consumers looking to make a difference with their purchases.

 

Our Vision

At The Unseen “Our Vision” is to diverge from mass production and instead focus on brands which are designed to last whilst caring for people and the planet in making a positive impact. Supporting local artisans who source 100% natural materials or utilize recycled materials or brands who preserve generation long traditional craftsmanship, in making unique high-quality items for a fair price.

The Founders

Laura Lander

The idea for The Unseen came to Laura after losing her job at Mawaheb from Beautiful People, an art studio, in Dubai, for adults with special needs. Unfortunately, the studio had to close as a direct result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

With no clear direction on what steps to take next, a conversation sparked the idea, and The Unseen was born. Sometimes, things just need to feel right and fall into place, The Unseen is one of those things for Laura.

Laura is the visionary and creative mind behind the brands and products at The Unseen and has always been inspired and driven to do good and make this world a better place for all. Coming from a fashion background, originally, and a passion for all things interior, Laura is using her knowledge, passion, and drive to find you the best pieces.

Syafiq Hertog

Growing up in Dubai, Syafiq Hertog has seen the city evolve to what it is today. Bringing unique new concepts to the region is something he is very excited about. At The Unseen he will combine his experience and knowledge of the market in the Middle East, and network to support the vision and to drive The Unseen to greater heights.

Being passionate about moving away from mass production and supporting the green movement, Syafiq will ensure the pillars of our vision and mission will continue to be met.
